I am a visual artist based in Victoria, Canada. My work explores the fraught relationship between humans and non-human animals by looking at how humans write about, photograph and paint non-human animals. To that end I use original drawing, photography and video, as well as found and appropriated materials, including text, paintings and photographs. Humour and playfulness are a vital part of my work. I also have a side interest in nominative determinism and have explored aspects of my name and its consequences in works like, The Carrie Walker Project.
